Let FAILURE Be Your FUEL
What do Oprah, Katie Couric, Michael Jordan and Jerry Seinfeld have in common?
(besides the fact that they are gazillionaires and masters in their respective crafts obvi)
They figured out that the secret of success was to embrace failure, and let it motivate them.
Oprah was fired from her first tv anchor job.
After Katie went on air for the first time, she was called to her producer’s office and told that she should never be on camera again.
MJ was cut from his HS basketball team.
Jerry was booed off stage the first time he did stand up.
Pretty epic failures…and had they let those things stop them, their lives would look a whole lot different today.
I mean, if Oprah hadn’t stayed motivated, would we have ever gotten that Meghan and Harry special that I continually think about? (my guess is no)
Why then can we celebrate their failures and marvel at where it took them...but we can’t do it for ourselves?
It’s time to STOP letting the fear of failure keep you playing a victim.
And it’s time to START letting failure be your fuel to make you victorious.
Stop making failure be embarrassing, or shameful, or an obstacle to overcome, and instead look at it as a notch in your success belt. If it was good enough for Oprah, Katie, Michael + Jerry, it should be good enough for us.
